Asus has launched its improved Zenfone Max smartphone with upgraded specifications starting at Rs 9,999 for the 2GB RAM model and Rs 12,999 for the 3GB RAM model. The smartphone edges over its previous version in terms of processor, RAM, and inbuilt storage. However, it shares the same design profile.

Given the price of the handset, it looks like Asus is once again aiming to stir the budget smartphone market, which is currently dominated by the likes of Xiaomi Redmi Note 3, Lenovo K4 Note and the recently launched LeEco Le 1s Eco. We are yet to see how the new Asus Zenfone Max performs when compared to these three devices. The three smartphones are also priced around Rs 10,000.
